Reid Street Smart is a Northern Virginia-based creator and host of the new podcast “Controlling the Narrative”. Driven by a new-found passion to expose the true character of people, places and things by allowing perspective to be the driving force behind life’s realities, Reid Street Smart decided to create a podcast centered around allowing guest to control their narrative and expose their work within the communities they serve.  Often individuals are turned into the villain based off what society deems bad; after seeing the narratives of Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, Laquan McDonald and many other victims flip, Reid Street Smart thought it was imperative that people can tell their story without outside distortion of the facts and reality. Reid Street Smart’s father was killed in 1994 so there is an understanding of how detrimental victim blaming can be not only to the deceased but also the surviving loved ones. The platform acts as a record for the past, current and future for all the content touched straight from the horse’s mouth as the old saying goes.

As Reid Street Smart grows his platform his main goal is to remain True to the content gifted to him by his guest or research on various topics worth discussion.  Information is the key to the future, we have been afforded the blueprints to a better society if we only corrected the mistakes made in our past. The work done by guest deserve to be told through the eyes of the creator…
